Sunset Glow

Yesterday I submitted my final assignment of the semester, which was a relief. Last week was not fun. I had to complete two major assignments whilst battling a cold but at least it’s all over now. I can’t believe how busy I have been the past three months. It’s been non-stop stress but thankfully I had a few opportunities to unwind.

My aunty and uncle was visiting from Malaysia a few weeks ago. Before they left, we took my aunt out for tea at Beachcomber. Their apple juice and potato wedges was delightful. I wouldn’t mind going back to try the other items on their menu.

On a separate day, my brother and I took our Taiwanese friend to D.O.C. for pizza. We ordered two pizzas and a caprese salad. Try their salad if you are at D.O.C., they know what they’re doing. I’ll write a more comprehensive review at a later date but for now, enjoy this photo of our food.

We dropped by Helado Jauja before leaving the city. I’ve been loving salted caramel lately, however I made a big mistake of ordering the salted caramel gelato there. The first bite was heaven but the rest of my cone was dreadful. I feel my tastebud shrivelling up from the salt with each lick. Eventually I gave it and threw the rest out*. I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way. When it comes down to gelato, just stick to fruity flavours.

*N.B. – I hate throwing out food, so this was a big deal for me. It was also crazy expensive…

Our last stop was Penguin Parade at Phillip Island. The fairy penguins were adorable, my heart exploded each time they jumped. Their waddle was also very cute. Just look at this picture.
